I hope all the parents and incoming students are having a fun, and relaxing summer! The beginning
of the school year is filled with excitement, and anticipation for both the teacher and the students, and
to make your child's preschool to Tk a smooth transition please begin a dialogue with your child
about going to a new school, and meeting new friends. Reading and discussing books
with the theme of friendship, and the first days of school is a great way to prepare your child into
his/her new transition.
Tk is a step up from a preschool environment, and there will be some differences and similarities for
your child to adjust to, in regards to, his/her new environment, classroom schedule, and expectations.
Your child will begin developing his/her socio-emotional growth, oral language, and
learning correct behavior in a classroom setting. Tk helps your child be more aware of his/her
surroundings, how to play and share with others, behave in a large group, and work in small group
settings, allowing him/her to experience a taste of responsibility and independence. The knowledge
and act of writing his/ her name is a huge step toward independence!
Tk will encourage your child to meet and develop new friendships through play, memorize prayers,
learn how to pray, enjoy listening and comprehending Bible stories, begin to recognize letters and
sounds from the alphabet, and learn about numbers and counting.
Being a Tk student is the start for your child to experience Saint Anne's community, its generous
heart and an excellence in learning!
Many blessings to you and your family,
TK Director/ Lead Teacher
